Samson Tadese
Director
Samson Tadese is the founder of The Fanos Light Children Support Inc and currently working as a Director of this organization. Samson was born and grew up in Ethiopia. He earned two B.A degree from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia, and from the University of Winnipeg, Canada.
Currently, he is working as an Educational Assistant in Pembina Trails School Division and as a director of The Fanos Light Children Support Inc. He is passionate in working to support children and youth education.
Campbell Mclean
Board Member
Campbell is a law graduate from the University of British Colombia. He also earned his B.A from the University of Winnipeg . He has a passion of supporting children and youth education with the knowledge and skills he has. Currently, he is serving as a board member in TFLCS Inc.
Ginikatchi Obah
Board Member
Ginikatchi Obah is a French Graduate from the University of Nigeria, and also a master’s graduate from the University of Port Harcourt in French/English Translation. He has a passion for supporting children and youth education, together with development work. Katchi was been Serving as a writer and contributor for the last few years before he become our board member. This is what he has to say in his own word about becoming our board member, ” I write to express my interest to become a board member and a writer for Fanos Light education and virtues inc in Winnipeg, Manitba, Canada. I am a French graduate from the University of Nigeria and I hold a master’s degree in translation French/English from the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. My dreams and aspiration is to become a French/English bilingual professional and development practitioner working in an international development organization. As a united nations volunteer, I have translated documents for international organizations such as UNDP, UNSSC, UNCEF, IBJ, and LCP. I am passionate about giving back to the society and impacting the lives of people around me that is why I am proud to be part of this great move to change the face of education in small towns in Africa using Sedika in Ethiopia as a take-off point. My involvement in this project started when I attended the first fund raising ceremony held in August 22, 2015 to mark the official Launch of the project: A journey Back To Sedika from Winnipeg
Michael Tefera
Board Member
Michael Tefera is a second-year Medicine Students from Ethiopia. He has a passion of supporting children and youth education. He has been supporting our project’s work using his knowledge and experiences. We are grateful to his contribution and effort in our work. Currently, he is serving as a board member in TFLCS Inc.
Margret Lewis-John
Board Member
Margaret Lewis-John has been serving the Caribbean community in various level and also serving as a president of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Association of Winnipeg Inc. Margaret is also a board member of the United Brother and Sisters of Manitoba, a group which focuses on empowerment of Refugee women and girls.
As a djembe drummer, Margaret uses her time to organize training for young people in the art of playing the drums and has performed several poems and songs at Caribbean cultural events including Folklorama. Having studied at the University of Winnipeg, Margaret promotes culture, diversity and inclusion and strive to help anyone in need of advancing their career and making a difference in the community.
Margret has been supporting The Fanos Light, now serving as a board member and supporting The Fanos Light afterschool program and encourages youth and children to strive for excellence no matter the challenges they faced, as there is always a way to make life better.
